Commissioned & premiered by the ARTZenter Institute at Herbst Theatre, June 9, 2026. Noise. Constant, overwhelming noise fills our days. We are surrounded by life-altering changes of political unrest, climate crisis, and a relentless stream of hostility, delivered in an endless cascade of content. The pressure to react, to speak, to take a public stance on every issue is immense. Silence is interpreted as complicity. But amidst the shouting, it becomes harder to truly hear one another. Meanwhile, others around me seem untouched; comfortably distanced from the urgency of it all. Their words of “It doesn’t affect me,” or “It’ll be fine,” only deepen the sense of disconnect. Years of quiet submission have left emotions bottled up, only for them to surface in brief explosive action, before retreating once again; a way of giving form to the rage, confusion, and exhaustion I carry. my rage is quiet (2026) offers space not just for myself to focus my energy in the only way I know how, but for anyone who feels similarly overwhelmed to reflect and find their drive again.
